What custom money management systems work for 50/50 bets (not Martingale)?

Hey folks, let’s chat about money management!

So, I was thinking… can we kick off a discussion about the progressions and systems you use for managing your bankroll? I’m talking about the ones that actually work semi-long term, especially for those 50/50 bets, you know? Red or Black, Player or Banker, Pass or Don’t Pass.

And let’s skip the usual suspects, okay? No need for the standard Martingale, D’Alembert, or Labouchère talk—we’ve all heard those a million times!

I’m sure there are some custom, home-brewed systems out there. Wouldn’t it be great to share what’s actually worked for you?

I’ve always believed that bet selection is just one piece of the puzzle—maybe only a third of it. The real magic, the other two-thirds, has got to be in the money management. It’s so important!

Hey folks, just wanted to say I’m a huge fan of positive progressions myself really love playing around with the 1 3 2 or the 1 3 2 6. If you’re into that, I’ve gotta say, the book Power Baccarat 2 has a ton of great stuff on progressions. It’s a fantastic read!

No martingale or any betting system will overcome the house edge… worse, if you double your bets hoping to win one unit, you risk a huge amount for little gain. Also, the house confounds this by placing a maximum bet on the table.

Assume you’re betting on red and get stuck in the middle of a black streak and lose a lot. Here are your losses at a $10 table: 10… 20… 40… 80… 160… 320… 640… 1,280. And if the tabl has a $1,000 max? You’ll never get that one unit back.

Read the author’s books on Baccarat and Blackjack. He plays conservatively. I prefer that style. He recommends 2‑1‑2‑3‑3‑4‑4 after a win. That’s 100‑50‑100, and so on. I’ve had more success with 100‑75‑50‑75‑100, and so on. I tested 100‑150‑250. If you don’t win three in a row, you go home fast.

For baccarat, the Fibonacci system is definitely the way to go. But here’s the thing: you’ve gotta know when to quit. Personally, I like to keep it rolling until I hit 89 units. Sometimes, if I’m feeling lucky, I’ll push it to a max of 144. That’s my sweet spot.
