Confused about hardways bets in craps - how do they work?

So, my boyfriend and I decided to learn craps this weekend. Pretty fun, right? Anyway, we’re totally stuck on hardways bets. Do they clear after each roll? Or do they just… hang out there unti they either win or a 7 shows up to ruin everything?

Oh, and another thing. If you win on the pass line after a point is set, can you just let that ride? You know, double the bet for the next round?

ah yeah, they always getcha on the seven out… or if the point’s a hardway and they roll a soft version of it. classic move. like betting on a hard eight and seeing that 5 3 or 6 2 pop up… brutal. feels like the dice know, right? just takes your money and laughs.

They all lose on a 7 out or a Winner 7 if they were working.
They lose one by one when that number rolls.
But not as a pair.
