My strategies: Only split pairs and double down vs. 4, 5 , and 6. I stand on 15 & 16. Also double down on soft 17 20 against a 4, 5, or 6. If I’m playing 1 on 1, I’ll split 10s vs. a 4, 5, or 6 too.
I tip the dealer with a chip a few hands before the multi deck shoe ends. Then they ask me to cut. I usually cut 1 inch from the back, sometimes 1 inch from the front. At my tribal casino, there’s usually a clump of 10 cards starting about 2 to 2.5 inches from the front. Cutting like this ‘forces’ that clump into play.
