Why do people bet ATS spreads with a 21% vig—isn’t that worse than roulette?

Okay, so can someone please explain to me why everyone is so fascinated with the ATS bet?

My math is screaming at me—the vig on this thing is a whopping 21%!

That’s literally four times the house edge you face on a double-zero roulette wheel. Seriously?

I don’t play it on every shooter… it will certainly drain your bankroll… my home casino pays a little better than most at 175 1 for all and 34 1 for small and tall… which if I remember correctly is about a 12% Vig…

My local casino doesn’t allow lays on crapless. Lay an inside number to complete the all. I’ll do it for one number on a tall or small alone. I roll a lot of craps. Especially on the come out. I get close if I stay focused. No hands in the way. No new money. No stick changes mid roll. No drink girls. No one borrowing a green chip. Casinos have the most expensive carnival games.
