Man, I gotta tell you about this one time I went to Caesar’s in Atlantic City, way back in the ’80s. I had this $300 with me, you know? Just a little nest egg for some fun. So I sit down at this $5 minimum blackjack table, and for like the first half hour, I’m just on fire. I couldn’t lose! I’m up another $300, easy. And I remember thinking to myself, Wow, this is a piece of cake. I’ve totally got this figured out. Oh, what a feeling that was.
But then… oh boy. I guess the universe decided to balance things out. Over the next hour or so, it all just… evaporated. Chip by chip. I remember the sinking feeling, watching my stack get smaller and smaller. Next thing I know, I’m driving home, totally broke. Not a fun driv e, let me tell you.
And you know, this was back in the day when they used those big 4 and 6 deck shoes, not the constant shuffling machines they have now. It felt different, you know? A different vibe entirely. Just a little nugget from the old days. A tough lesson learned about how quickly things can turn!
